Becoming Our Client
What to Expect
Now that you’re considering care with Mothur, you may have questions about what the process looks like. Below is a simple overview to help you understand how we begin and what to expect. Our goal is to provide thoughtful, supportive care while ensuring you and your loved ones feel comfortable, informed, and at ease. We take time to understand each individual’s needs and create care that feels aligned, responsive, and grounded in daily life.
Care Commitments
-
Care begins with an Initiation, a collaborative introductory process designed to help determine whether our services are the right fit for your needs, lifestyle, and level of support. During this time, we assess care needs, routines, compatibility, lifestyle considerations, and overall alignment with our approach to support.
You can begin by scheduling a free virtual or phone consultation and completing our care request form. This allows us to better understand your needs, answer questions, and determine whether our services may be a good fit.
-
Step #1 Consultation
A 30–60 minute collaborative intake conversation where we discuss care needs, routines, goals, preferences, lifestyle considerations, and overall support needs.
-
Trial sessions typically take place over 1–4 days, with 4–6 hour sessions depending on individual needs, scheduling, and level of support.
During the initial trial period, we ask that a family member, caregiver, or support person be involved to help guide routines, preferences, and care expectations. Early sessions are typically completed alongside a support person, with later sessions potentially transitioning into more independent care if it feels aligned and appropriate for everyone involved.
Families may choose how and when to complete sessions within the provided care structure and scheduling parameters.
-
Additional introductory or transition support may be recommended for individuals requiring higher levels of care, routine stabilization, or more integrated assistance. In some cases, an Extended Initiation or Transition Support Period of up to 14 days may be recommended before beginning ongoing independent care services.
This additional adjustment period may be helpful when care routines are more complex, when a client or family would benefit from additional comfort and trust-building time, or when collaborative support is needed to better understand household routines, mobility needs, communication styles, behavioral support, or overall care expectations.
During this period, care may continue alongside a family member, caregiver, care coordinator, or additional support person until everyone feels comfortable, confident, and aligned with the care process and level of support being provided.
-
Following the Initiation process, care is scheduled based on individual support needs, availability, and overall care goals. We offer weekly, biweekly, and monthly support options designed to provide consistency, continuity, and relationship-centered care.
Personalized care plans may include companion care, personal care, wellness support, lifestyle assistance, or more integrated care structures depending on the level of support required. Limited drop-in or temporary care options may also be available upon request and scheduling availability.
Care Investment
-
Rates begin at $25 per hour and are finalized following your consultation and trial period. Personalized care plans and recurring support options are available for individuals and families seeking more integrated care.
Additional fees may apply for specialized or customized support services, including transportation, meal preparation, herbal wellness support, extended care coordination, or other individualized care requests.
