Our Scope of Practice
EKOFA & DBAs provides non-emergency personal care, holistic wellness services, and care coordination within the practitioner's education, training, certification, and applicable laws.
Our services do not replace emergency medical care, licensed medical treatment, diagnosis, psychotherapy, or legal advice.
Healthcare advocacy services are limited to education, communication support, appointment accompaniment, care coordination, and helping clients navigate healthcare systems. EKOFA & DBAS does not make medical decisions or provide medical diagnoses.
Please inform your practitioner of any injuries, surgeries, new diagnoses, pregnancy, medications, or contraindications before each session. We reserve the right to modify or postpone services when it is not appropriate.
Our Committment
Our goal is always to work collaboratively with our clients. Whenever possible, we will seek fair, compassionate, and practical solutions that support both our clients and the sustainability of our practice.
The following policies apply to all Companion Care, Care Partnerships, and Holistic Care Services unless otherwise specified.
Holistic Care
Booking & Payment
Partial is due at the time of booking unless otherwise arranged.
Appointments are confirmed once payment and required forms have been received.
Services are available by appointment only.
Rescheduling & Cancellations
We understand that schedules change.
Appointments canceled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours' notice may be rescheduled based on availability.
Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours' notice may be charged in full.
Clients who repeatedly miss appointments or cancel with little notice may have future booking privileges limited.
Clients experiencing a serious illness, hospitalization, family emergency, military deployment, relocation, or another significant life event may request an Emergency Review for refunds.
Care Services
Designed as ongoing, relationship-centered service agreements rather than individual appointments. By reserving dedicated care time and availability, we are able to provide consistent, personalized support to you and your family.
Partnership Commitment
Billed on a recurring basis.
Care Partnerships include 4–8 personalized Care Visits each week, scheduled according to your individualized care plan and reserved availability.
Payments are non-refundable once a billing period has begun.
Clients may request to discontinue their partnership by providing written notice.
Partnership goals, scheduling, and care needs are reviewed every 90 days to ensure services continue to meet your evolving needs.
Care Experience
Care Experiences are designed for occasional, PRN, respite, recovery, and transitional support. They are not intended to replace ongoing home healthcare, skilled nursing, therapy, or emergency medical services. Your Care Experience includes personalized planning, communication, scheduling, and direct care tailored to your individual needs.
Clients may cancel their Care Experience within 7 calendar days of purchase for a full refund, provided no services, planning, consultations, or Care Visits have begun.
Once services have commenced, Care Experiences become commitment-based services and are generally non-refundable.
Unused/Canceled Care Visits
Care Experiences
Unused Care Visits remain available for up to 2 months from the original billing period, allowing flexibility during changing schedules or seasons of life.
When appropriate and approved by MOTHUR, unused visits may be transferred to another household or immediate family member.
All visits are subject to practitioner availability and must be scheduled before their expiration date.
Care Partnerships
Unused Care Visits may be carried forward for up to 6 months, subject to partnership terms, scheduling availability, and active membership status.
Booking & Payment
Full payment is required to reserve your Care Experience.
Care Experiences must be used within the timeframe outlined in your service agreement (typically within 90 days unless otherwise specified).
Care Experiences are non-transferable without prior approval.
Cancellations & Rescheduling
Individual Care Sessions canceled with at least 24 hours' notice may be rescheduled based on availability.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may be considered a completed Care Session unless otherwise approved.
Unused Care Sessions may expire if not scheduled within the agreed service period.
Emergency Review Policy
We understand that unexpected circumstances may arise. In cases of serious illness, hospitalization, financial hardship, relocation, military deployment, or other significant life events, clients may request an Emergency Review.
When appropriate, we may offer reasonable accommodations, including pausing services, transferring unused Care Sessions, applying service credits, or making other adjustments at our discretion.

Information is collected only to provide safe, personalized care and is maintained in accordance with applicable privacy laws and professional standards.
Payments
Payment is due according to your selected service agreement.
Accepted payment methods and payment schedules will be outlined before services begin.

Right to Decline or Discontinue Services
We reserves the right to decline, postpone, modify, or discontinue services when they fall outside our scope of practice, present safety concerns, conflict with our values, or are no longer an appropriate fit.
Whenever possible, appropriate referrals or recommendations will be provided. Each service has a separate cancellation policy and will be reviewed and sent to you before confirming agreement.
Clients are responsible for providing a safe and accessible environment for services. If conditions are determined to be unsafe or inappropriate, we reserve the right to postpone or discontinue services.
